How to Use

Getting Started

Welcome to Bitwise AI!
This is a simplified version of our AI assistant focused on document analysis. These AI tools are designed so that your broswer can communicate directly with models hosted by OpenAI. To get started, you'll need an OpenAI API key.

Getting Started - Step-by-Step:

1

Create an OpenAI Account

Go to platform.openai.com and create an account if you don't already have one. You'll need to verify your email address and phone number.

2

Add Billing Information

OpenAI requires a payment method to use their API. Go to Settings → Billing and add a credit card. Through this account, you only pay for what you use. Typical prompts are low cost, but the length of the document you analyze will affect the total cost.

3

Generate an API Key

In your OpenAI dashboard, go to API Keys (usually in the left sidebar). Click "Create new secret key", give it a name like "Bitwise Assistant", and copy the key.

Important: Save your API key somewhere safe! OpenAI only shows it once. If you lose it, you'll need to create a new one.
4

Enter Your API Key

In this add-in, click the Account tab at the top right, paste your API key in API Configuration section, and click Save API Key. Your key is encrypted and stored locally on your machine and sent to OpenAI directly with your prompts.

5

Start Using AI Prompts!

Go back to the Prompts tab, select some text in your Word document, choose a prompt, and click the Run button. Your selected model will analyze your text and provide results!
